Ballet has begun.

Christianna is so thrilled to be in ballet. It is so good for her too. It is a great outlet for that endless energy she always seems to have.

I have a funny story - the other day I was taking her up to class and I asked her how she liked ballet. This is how the conversation progressed:
Me: Are you liking ballet?
Christianna: Yeah...but there is this one girl who I don't like.
Me: Why?
C: She smiles ALL the time.
M: Maybe she really likes ballet?
C: She gives me a headache.
M: Ok?...
Then later as we were waiting for her class to start she says,
"There she is."
M: Oh...(Now I have seen this little girl and she does indeed always have a huge smile across her face.)
After class started, I hung out for a few minutes and watched. The cute smiley girl seemed the princess type and danced here and there...not really following form correctly. So, I have a theory:
I think it bothers Christianna because this little girl doesn't seem to take it nearly as seriously as she does. But the "she gives me a headache" thing was hilarious!

FHE: Opening Exercises

NOT WHAT YOU WERE THINKING???
Me either!
I told them to get ready for our opening exercises for our family night - which normally include a song, scripture & prayer - went to grab something, and came back to see them "exercising" in the front room! What a HOOT!

The End of the Beginning

I love going to the end of the year Kindergarten program! The kids get to show all the parents all the fun and exciting things they learned throughout the year...through songs! Is there really any better way??

Christianna started the year off with Mrs. Halford as her teacher. Before the year was over she gave birth to twins! So Christianna had a sub for the remaining year - here she is with Ms. Jackson (L) and the aide, Mrs. Duncan (R). We were hoping that Mrs. Halford would have made it to the program, she tried, but couldn't make it. (Luckily we saw her at the school a few days later and we even saw pictures of her adorable babies! Christianna was so excited to see her again!)

Above: Any turkey CAN tango! (Video is below.)

She was really belting out her songs and it was great when she purposely looked over towards us so we could get a great shot of her singing. There were so many songs so I am going to pick just a couple to share with you.

Here she is with one of her cute little friends, Rachel.
1st video: Ooh, there's a spider in my room!

School Field Day

Today Chris & I dedicated the entire day to the elementary school. Chris even took off the day because it was Field Day. We were assigned to the Hula Hoop Station and it was the BEST! (The popsicle station was second best.) It was sooo funny to see some of the kids try to hula hoop...they would spin it around their waists one way & just wiggle their hips as it fell down..never getting the movement right - and surprisingly, a lot of boys were totally awesome at it!
I took a few minutes to get some pictures of Victoria and caught her as she played the Shark game. Here she was taunting the "sharks" to come and get her.

This one is of her class after a morning of fun.

After the younger grades went in, we had about an hour to go home, check on Minnie & eat lunch. We originally drove to help and drove back - Christianna had ridden her bike to school earlier and it was still locked up, so we put her on Chris's bike to head back to the school.
I couldn't help laughing at the sight - Chris did really good keeping it together. He made the task look so easy! (Good thing I didn't run into a parked car or something while trying to ride and take pictures...I would have taken a picture of that too - of me lying on the hood. Now THAT would have been hysterical!)

Christianna helped us out for the rest of the day & didn't even whine or complain about wanting to go home! (Thanks, in part, to the posicles.) She has greatly improved on the hula hoop - of course...she had all afternoon to play with one!

Gymnastics anyone?

This summer Victoria started gymnastics - one of the best birthday gifts she got! We kept forgetting the camera & then she was always doing things so far away. So these are the best we have so far. I am going to try to get better ones soon.
She is absolutely loving gymnastics. Her favorite thing to do is the bars. We even found out that Grandma Lyndaker used to do the uneven bars! Rock it Grandma!!

HAH! Good one!!

Victoria has had such a wonderful school year! Ms. Beatty has been the best teacher, you know how much she cares about and loves the kids. The class put on a fun joke program for all the parents tonight. The lighting isn't the best, so the pictures didn't turn out as good as I like. (Victoria is in the back row with the zebra shirt & black hat.)

She did a fun little skit with Jenna. It was funny! SO I am going to share a snippet of it.
Victoria: Super Duper Computers, Can I help you?
Jenna: Thanks! I am setting up a computer in my den. What do you have?
V: Mac
J: No, the name's Lou.
V: Your computer?
J: I don't own a computer, I want to buy one!
V: What about windows?
J: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?
V:No - do you want office with Windows?
J:What will I see when I look in the windows?
V: Wallpaper.
J: Never mind the windows...I need a computer with software.
V: Software for windows?
I think it lasted about 5 minutes - but the spin on computer language was funny!
Some of her good friends making us laugh!
Here she is with her wonderful teacher.
This was such a funny song - I started recording after they started singing - but it was a song about ears! Since mine are a bit larger than most - especially growing up...this song spoke to me!

Victoria's Birthday Dinner

As is tradition for the Fairall's - we had Victoria's birthday dinner. We had to wait until Sunday night because of every one's schedules...but it was well worth the wait. She decided on Stromboli for dinner - it is fabulous! Imagine meats, cheeses and sauteed onions, peppers & mushrooms wrapped lovingly in bread dough and baked to perfection in the oven. Thinking about it is making me salivate! Anyway - back to the dinner. We invited Uncle David, Aunt Catherine and Aunt Holly to join us.
After we ate, Victoria opened a few presents. Here she is with the BEST one ever! (Not just because it was from Chris & I...seriously!) It was a cute letter telling her that she was finally going to start taking gymnastics - what she had been hoping for for such a long time. (So..it was seriously on her mind for about 1 month.)

At one point, I looked over at David and there he was...just sitting on the step...minding his own business...and wearing, what we love to call: Chris's hooker boots. AKA: Motor Cycle Boots.

Once he knew we were onto his "oddness" he gave us quite a show! He pretended to be riding a bike...got up and started to dance...

...put on the helmet....and just WOWED us!!! Dinner AND a show? What a great night.

The only thing to top off these pictures would have been a video, but alas...we didn't get one!
Oh - by the way...
HE'S SINGLE LADIES!!!
