Let's go fly a kite!

We were so lucky to have Brian and Catherine come out to visit us. David & Heather also came up from Provo to spend some fabulous family time together. It was a good windy day, so we decided to gather as many kits as we could and head out to the park. I really think the wind got stronger as we were walking to the park...who knows.

This here is Heather, she was very diligent in trying to keep her kite in the air.

After a few minutes, Chris decided that football would be much more fun! For him - he was right. The patience was thin with the kites.
Victoria didn't give up either. She even got stinking little rope burns on her hands! The wind turned out to be too windy for kites but she was not having it.

Christianna tried hard too - I like her method...just raise the string higher & that equals the kite raising higher.

This was seriously, hilarious! At one point David's kite went AWOL and flew across the street and was plastered to a camper.

After he peeled it off, he did this....

The wind was so strong that it held in place over his face as he walked back to us. I was laughing so hard! He cautiously navigated the curb too and looked like a zombie with arms outstretched as he walked. He even got more confident & ran a little with Minnie.

Shortly after this, we tossed the football around and called it a day.
