School Field Day

Today Chris & I dedicated the entire day to the elementary school. Chris even took off the day because it was Field Day. We were assigned to the Hula Hoop Station and it was the BEST! (The popsicle station was second best.) It was sooo funny to see some of the kids try to hula hoop...they would spin it around their waists one way & just wiggle their hips as it fell down..never getting the movement right - and surprisingly, a lot of boys were totally awesome at it!
I took a few minutes to get some pictures of Victoria and caught her as she played the Shark game. Here she was taunting the "sharks" to come and get her.

This one is of her class after a morning of fun.

After the younger grades went in, we had about an hour to go home, check on Minnie & eat lunch. We originally drove to help and drove back - Christianna had ridden her bike to school earlier and it was still locked up, so we put her on Chris's bike to head back to the school.
I couldn't help laughing at the sight - Chris did really good keeping it together. He made the task look so easy! (Good thing I didn't run into a parked car or something while trying to ride and take pictures...I would have taken a picture of that too - of me lying on the hood. Now THAT would have been hysterical!)

Christianna helped us out for the rest of the day & didn't even whine or complain about wanting to go home! (Thanks, in part, to the posicles.) She has greatly improved on the hula hoop - of course...she had all afternoon to play with one!

My favorite thing about her all crunched onto Chris's bike is the fact that she is wearing her helmit but it is all down over her eyes. She looks all folded up like a pretzel and my bum hurts just looking at her perched on the center bar! Yikes! (Good thing the school is only a block or two away!)

How neat that you could both help out and enjoy the fun with all the kids and oh, ya the popsicles. So where are the pics of you and Chris hula hooping?
