1st Ward Campout

What a doozie!!! We were so excited for the ward camp out for a few reasons:

• We hadn't gone camping yet. As a matter of fact - we hadn't been camping for a couple years!
• We could finally use the new big tent we bought 2 years ago.
• Coming after Trek - we were excited for the campfire & food!

We arrived later Thursday, after Chris got back from work. We pretty much set up the tent, hung out with those who were there already and had dinner. That night Christianna got sick - and not just feeling yucky...she started to vomit - A LOT. Luckily we had a large bowl to wash dishes for it became the puke bucket. She woke up so much through the night that I ended up sleeping on the girls side with her & Victoria was on the other side with Chris.

Turns out the air mattress got a hole in it so they were sunk into the center of it once morning arrived.

Christianna spent the next day in the tent. She hates to be by herself so we spent a good amount of time in there being antisocial. We read more of Harry Potter to pass the time.
Victoria got to know her friend Sarah a little better though. They had a great time playing together.

Christianna started to warm up & feel a little better by late afternoon.

We had her come up the the table area and this is what she did. I really like this picture even though she feels horrible!

The rest of the kids were playing in the net free volleyball area. Just making lemonade with lemons! There was some game going on that required the girls side...

Chris was pretty much the fire king...he likes fires...A LOT! I found the camo rain jacket amusing...in some of the pictures, you can barely tell he's there. Seriously, you can hardly tell where he is in this shot! ha ha

They played a little ladder ball to pass the rainy time away. Yes, rainy. It pretty much rained all afternoon into the evening Friday. Looks like Victoria is celebrating an "Oh yeah" victory toss.

Tanner was having fun playing with Chris's hat. Gosh, he is such an adorable sweetie! (Chris isn't too bad either.)

I am so glad we thought to bring up our canopy. We knew that they were calling for some rain so we thought it would be nice to have a dry picnic table. We didn't think that we would have the only one...It was amazing how many people crammed under that thing when it started to pour!

It rained all night & we woke up to this:

Yes folks, that is indeed - hail balls. Needless to say, breakfast went quick followed by the taking down of tents.

It seriously took a village to take down our behemoth tent.

It didn't take long for the place to clear out. Thanks to everyone who stayed to make sure everyone got things taken down!
