The Olive Garden

Will the crazy fun ever end?? We decided to go to The Olive Garden for dinner. To start off the night we shared a bottle of bubbly....just kidding!! We were offered it, but we explained how we do not need that to have a good time. (We are already a little crazy.) The waiter was a little slow to our weirdness, but he eventually warmed up to us. He was from Romania or Slovakia...some kind of a "-ia" place far from here. So I think that had something to do with it.
At one point Becky asked him this, "Where are you from? (and in the same breath) Is your accent real?" He was a little stunned at the questions, mainly the second one - WE were a little stunned that she actually asked him! We were having a debate because some people will fake an accent while they wait tables. Well, he was no faker. AND, he practically avoided eye contact with her for the rest of the night! I think he may have been a little offended.
After dinner, Becky went "to the bathroom." She just went to have them come sing Happy Birthday to Jennie. Jennie thought that Ion (our waiter) would bring out a flaming pickle in revolt of the accent comment. Thank goodness Becky had a special cake come to the table so Jennie could be sung too. It was the most delicious chocolate cake confection! And so much better than any flaming pickle!
From my angle, Jennie leaned over & it looked like she snuffed the candle out with her chest! But she actually laughed it out. Then the waiter quickly whipped out the lighter and re lit it so she could get her birthday wish! He was really a nice guy.
Jennie and I tried REALLY hard to not laugh while taking a picture. We had a VERY VERY hard time with that. Above - we are laughing so hard that the camera couldn't even capture us! Every time we would stop-at the very same time - take a deep breath, breathe it out, smile....and break into hysterics. We repeated this process for a long time until we finally got this picture in. It was definitely worth the aching face & ab muscles.
After the foolishness was done...momentarily. It was time to eat that cake. Those on the other side of the table where wondering how we were to eat it - since their forks went away with the dinner plates. But Jennie & I, still had ours! We are always prepared when food is involved! I am just so glad that Grandma took this picture when she did!

So - A big

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO YOU JENN-AYE!!
